Based in Annapolis, Maryland, this husband and wife team has, since 1980, been involved in researching, performing, recording, and teaching about early American music from the colonial and Federal periods. They use a variety of authentic and reproduction instruments in order to bring America's musical heritage to life with beauty and accuracy.

David & Ginger were MUSIC CONSULTANTS to the PBS series Liberty!—the American Revolution and to C-SPAN's award-winning Series American Presidents: Life Portraits. Both of these feature the Hildebrand's music, which has also been used for SOUND TRACKS for movies, stage productions, public radio and television. Their RECORDINGS are distributed nationally by Albany Records and all have received widespread radio and television soundtrack exposure. They have also arranged and recorded numerous folk songs for popular CD series for the CLASSROOM by Silver Burdett and Prentice Hall.

  • English Guitar (copied after 2 models, both c. 1770)
  • Hammered Dulcimer (modern, by Dusty Strings)

  • Harpsichord (English spinet, copied after Thomas Hitchcock, c. 1720
