EARLY AMERICAN MUSIC

BOOKING INFORMATION

David & Ginger Hildebrand are available for concerts in many venues throughout the country and abroad from their home and studio in Annapolis, Maryland. When onstage their music intertwines with stories and discussion to create a vivid sense of our cultural heritage. Concerts are intimate, even in large halls, and audience members frequently comment that they have felt as if they were in a colonial drawing room. It is always clear how much this couple enjoys what they do.
PROGRAMS OFFERED
David & Ginger perform vocal and instrumental music on period and reproduction 18th-century instruments. They can do concerts of a general nature or tailor them to specific people, places, or events. In any case, most concerts will include pieces from each of these categories: theater music, dance tunes, topical or patriotic songs, whimsical and/or drinking songs, and chamber music. These selections bring America's music heritage to life with beauty and accuracy. The following are some examples of concert titles:
  • Songs to Celebrate Freedom—A Concert of 18th-Century American Spirit (Richmond, VA, 2001)
  • George Washington: Music for the First President (Atlanta History Center, 1999, and elsewhere)
  • A Concert from Colonial Williamsburg (Easton, MD, 2000)
  • Music of Colonial and Revolutionary South Carolina (Charleston, 2000)
  • American Music from the Times of the War of Independence (Graz, Austria, 2001)
  • Music at the Start of the Revolution (Concord, MA 2000)
  • A Jefferson Birthday Concert (Lynchburg, VA 1997)
  • 350th Anniversary Event (New Castle, DE 2001)
  • Musical Diversions: Colonial Traditions of Tidewater Virginia (Colonial Williamsburg, 2000)
  • Music, Mythology and Art in Early America (National Gallery of Art Teacher Institute, 1997)
