Paige Whitley-Bauguess is joined by Baroque Dancer Thomas Baird and musicians of the Baroque Arts Project on period instruments for this enchanting and informative DVD.

"As one would expect from Paige Whitley-Bauguess,. . . a model of clarity, taste, and finely styled dancing . . . a baroque dance and music tape of such scholarly and artistic excellence has long been sorely needed."  —Wendy Hilton, author of Dance and Music of Court and Theater

This is a new instructional DVD. Internationally acclaimed Baroque dancer Paige Whitley-Bauguess performs and teaches both as soloist and with artistic collaborators Thomas Baird and the musicians of the Baroque Arts Project using period instruments. In a studio setting, Whitley-Bauguess clearly explains and demonstrates various steps and timing sequences. Then in period clothing, she and her partner perform several social dances in the authentic setting of Tryon Palace, a magnificent 18th-century Governor's residence in New Bern, North Carolina. Stage performances of theatrical dances are also included.

CONTENTS:

—discussions and examples showing music and dance rhythm relationships;
