This is a collection of country dances whose titles and figures transferred from England to America in the 18th and early 19th nineteenth centuries.

Some of the dances in Volume I include: Christ Church Bells, Country Bumkin, Cymro O B'le, or the Welsh Question, The Devil among the Taylors, Fair American, Go to the Devil and Shake Yourself, Nancy Dawson, and What a Beau your Granny Was.

English sources include dance publications by Thompson, Bland, Longman & Broderip, Hime ("Irish"), Preston, and Walsh.

All dance figures and music were transcribed from original sources, but were not interpreted for modern dancers. A typical dance page, with American FIGURES and English MUSIC and FIGURES is shown HERE.

Additional volumes will be published with dances whose titles, or figures transferred and those where neither the title or figures transferred ("native-born").

The Personal Edition is for personal use only and may not be copied, distributed or networked without permision. The Site-Licensed Edition is for libraries or schools that wish to put the publication on their password-controlled web sites. Neither edition should be available to the general public on the open Internet.
